Today I awoke early and my eyes gazed out the window to a greyish lavender sky.
I could not help but think about others throughout the planet, gazing at the same sky, however facing difficulties beyond our ability to comprehend.
Drought. Polluted unsanitary drinking water.
Disease. Ebola. Malaria. Polio. Typhus.
Nuclear pollution of our air, water and earth caused by accidents such as Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima.
The ice shelves and sheets are melting into the planets water ways.
The planets ability to reflect the sun’s rays back into space is absorbed under the cloak of a carbon footprint ever growing as a result of the industrialized nations of the world manic dysfunction of disregarding the planets balance with nature.
The planet has been disrupted by human avarice, waste, pollution, ozone decimation, deforestation and carbon emissions.
War in the Middle East. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people dispossessed from their homes and homelands. Inadequate food supply. Inadequate water supply. Inadequate or nonexistant sewage.
Isis, in the name of Islam is scourging the Middle East and is threatening the present world order of democratized nations.
Russia is rumbling through the Ukraine just as Hitler did in Poland, France and Czechoslovakia.
Just as millions of Jews, Gypsy’s, Armenians and other ethnic groups have been massacred in the past, so it is again today, that the industrialized nations along with the oil rich nations of the world, sit back quietly while the planet and human masses are destroyed in Africa, Mideast and the Ukraine.
I cannot help but think of the empirical axiom of human history in which inevitably the inextricable relationship of the “Have’s and Have Not’s” ultimately clash and a new world order comes to be.
The local merchants are stocking Christmas merchandise.
I awaken this morning to live in a bad dream.
