We have all heard and read of the tragic events where children are left in cars with the windows closed on a hot summer day.
The results and consequences are grave.
Carbon footprint is a blanket of carbon gases and soot which envelops the planet earth like a shroud.
This blanket, the carbon footprint, that covers the planet earth prevents the sun’s light and heat from reflecting off of the planet earth back out into space.
The soot that is emitted from automobiles, coal plants and industrial byproducts eventually settles back down onto the ground.
On the frozen tundra and mountains of the Arctic and Antarctic, the ice and snow, which once reflected sun light and heat, are now covered with soot stained fallout in shades of grey, brown and black.
All of which exacerbates and compounds the problem of increasing the planets temperature by these colors absorbing heat instead of reflecting heat.
The consequences of man’s grievous disregard for the planets balance of nature in relationship to the earth, air, sun, ice, snow and water are perilous.
The consequences to the human race is extinction. The extinction of existing species, deforestation, drought and the rise of sea levels are at stake here.
I am sixty six years old.
I do not have long to live in terms of life expectancy.
If I live to be a hundred years old, forty four years will go by before you even finish reading this post.
So, what happens to the planet earth in my lifetime is not going to affect me.
However, it is our responsibility to safeguard the future for our children and their children’ children and all living things.
Don’t give me all of that grandpa and grandma poo pooing and doting on your grandchildren and dismiss Global Warming at the same time.
You’re just lacing the baby’s milk with arsenic.
I do not apologize for speaking to you in draconian terms.
The purpose of this post is to alert, in some cases awaken you to the perilous road, governments and the private sector are leading the Planet Earth to. Destruction of the Planet Earth along with all living things.
But, do not take my word for it.
I am going to be developing a list of reading material on this website, LookLifeAndTimes.com, that the reader can go to for reference on this subject in the Global Warming section.
Today, I am going to recommend one scientist who is considered the preeminent leading scientist on the subject of Global Warming, for you to read.
James Lovelock, is a scientist and has coined the name “GAIA” for the Planet Earth.
I’m not going to attempt to write a review on any of his books or a bio.
You can Google James Lovelock or go to amazon.com and read the reviews on all of James Lovelock’s books.
I will say this.
The future of life on the Planet Earth does not look good.
My position on fatalism is this:
If the ship that I was on went down and I was in a lifeboat that was taking on water, I would not start saying the “Hail Mary.”
I would start bailing water and get someone to shore up the hole where the water was entering the boat.
And so it is with Global Warming.
James Lovelock and many other leading scientists believe that the Planet Earth has passed the tipping point. The disappearance of the arctic ice and rising sea levels will bring catastrophic consequences to all living things on the Planet Earth.
I say, “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead”! And by this I mean, societies and governments around the world have to recognize the impending dangers of Global Warming and take immediate appropriate measures and changes to prevent Global Warming.
Mankind will not go down without a fight. But time is of essence.
This fight is slipping through my generation’s grip and the baton has to be taken by the next.
I wish you, your family and offspring the where withal to seize the time and make the timely decisions correctly.
Love, Peace and Happiness
